What is Ohana T & R?

Ohana T&R is the tactical health and performance division of Ohana Health & Performance Consulting.

Our programs integrate nutrition, movement, recovery, education, and accountability to support the whole tactical professional. We don’t use one-size-fits-all wellness plans. We evaluate the demands of the department, assignment, schedule, and individual before recommending a strategy.

Our approach focuses on three areas:

Get in Touch

Tactical Readiness

Preparing the body and mind for the demands of the mission.

Readiness begins before the call comes in.

Tactical professionals need more than general wellness advice. They need practical strategies that support unpredictable schedules, long shifts, physical exertion, heat exposure, interrupted meals, and rapid changes in operational demand.

Tactical Readiness services may include:

  • Baseline wellness and readiness assessments
  • Nutrition and hydration evaluation
  • Shift-specific fueling strategies
  • Pre-duty and post-duty routines
  • Energy and fatigue education
  • Healthy body-composition support
  • Supplement education
  • Sleep and recovery assessments
  • Individual readiness goals
  • Progress monitoring and reassessment

Our goal is to help personnel build daily habits that support the demands of the job.

Operational Performance

Supporting energy, strength, focus, hydration, and physical capacity while on duty.

Fuel the person responsible for the mission.

Poor hydration, inconsistent meals, inadequate recovery, and disrupted sleep can affect energy, concentration, decision-making, and physical performance.

Ohana T&R helps personnel develop realistic strategies they can use at the station, in the field, during extended operations, and at home.

Operational Performance services may include:

  • Duty-day nutrition planning
  • Emergency meal and snack strategies
  • Hydration and electrolyte education
  • Heat and exertion preparation
  • Strength-supporting nutrition
  • Pre-training and post-training fueling
  • Healthy weight-management support
  • Performance habit tracking
  • Individual coaching
  • Team education
  • Resource portals and practical tools

Recommendations are designed to work within the department’s operational environment, staffing pattern, available resources, and schedule.

Recovery & Resilience

Helping personnel recover from physical strain, disrupted sleep, occupational stress, and demanding schedules.

The body cannot remain mission-ready without recovery.

Tactical professionals often return home after the shift ends, but their nervous system and body may still be carrying the demands of the job.

Recovery isn’t weakness. It is part of operational readiness.

Ohana T&R Recovery & Resilience services may address:

  • Sleep quality and shift-work recovery
  • Post-call and post-shift routines
  • Fatigue awareness
  • Mobility and movement recovery
  • Hydration restoration
  • Recovery nutrition
  • Stress-response education
  • Rest-day planning
  • Workload and recovery trends
  • Sustainable lifestyle habits
  • Referral pathways when additional care is needed

Our programs teach personnel how to recognize declining recovery patterns and take practical steps before those patterns begin affecting performance and quality of life.

Ohana T & R

        TACTICAL & READINESS

Built for the mission. Built for the fight.

Stronger, more resilient firefighters and tactical professionals through nutrition, movement, and recovery.

Public-safety professionals operate under conditions most wellness programs were never designed to address. Shift work, interrupted sleep, unpredictable meals, environmental stress, physical demands, and repeated exposure to high-pressure situations can affect readiness, recovery, and long-term health.

Ohana T&R provides practical health and performance support designed around the realities of tactical work.

We help departments and individuals build stronger foundations, identify barriers to readiness, and develop sustainable strategies that support performance on duty and recovery away from the job.

  • Hydration awareness         Recovery-habit development
  • Sleep-quality trends           Self-reported fatigue patterns
  • Education engagement      Participation consistency
  • Program milestones             Opportunities for continued support

Leadership reporting focuses on program-level trends. Individual health information remains protected according to applicable privacy and documentation requirements.

  • Sleep and recovery for shift workers            Reducing fatigue through daily habits
  • Building practical station meals                    Supporting healthy body composition
  • Understanding supplements                          Pre-training and post-training nutrition
  • Recovery after demanding calls                  Stress-response and resilience education

Education can be delivered in person, virtually, or through a hybrid program.

NOT ANOTHER CHECK-THE-BOX WELLNESS PROGRAM

Ohana T&R doesn’t deliver generic information and leave personnel to figure out the rest.

We provide education, practical application, accountability, and measurable follow-through. We work with leadership while remaining connected to the realities faced by personnel on the floor, in the station, and in the field.

Our purpose is simple:

Help the people who protect others become stronger, more resilient, and better supported.
