Helping young athletes fuel their growth, strengthen their bodies, recover well, and build habits that support performance for years to come.
Young athletes need more than talent and training. Their bodies are still growing, their schedules are demanding, and their nutrition needs can change from one season to the next.
Ohana Youth provides age-appropriate nutrition, hydration, recovery, and lifestyle coaching for developing athletes. We work with the athlete and their family to create practical strategies that fit school, practice, competition, family meals, and everyday life.
Our goal isn’t to place an adult athlete’s program on a growing child. We help each young athlete build a strong foundation for healthy development and long-term performance.
Nutrition. Hydration. Growth. Recovery.
Young athletes aren’t simply smaller adults.
Their bodies need enough energy and nutrients to support growth, learning, hormone development, training, competition, and recovery. When young athletes consistently underfuel, skip meals, rely on processed snacks, or fail to hydrate properly, their energy, concentration, recovery, and performance may suffer.
Proper nutrition may help young athletes:
At Ohana, we don’t promote food fear, extreme restriction, or quick fixes. We teach young athletes how to understand their bodies, fuel their activity, and make better choices with confidence.

Practical support for real athletes and real families
A successful youth nutrition plan must work beyond the consultation room. It must fit early mornings, school lunches, long practices, game-day travel, family schedules, food preferences, and the household budget.
Our youth nutrition coaching may include:
Parents remain an important part of the process. We help families understand what the athlete needs, how to stock the kitchen, and how to support progress without creating unnecessary pressure around food or weight.
Training creates the demand. Recovery helps the body adapt.
More training isn’t always the answer.
Young athletes need consistent sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition, mobility, rest, and recovery habits. Without those foundations, they may struggle with persistent fatigue, declining performance, poor concentration, soreness, and inconsistent motivation.
Ohana Youth Recovery focuses on:
When movement and recovery services are included, our nutrition and recovery professionals work together to support the whole athlete.
The goal isn’t to push young athletes harder. The goal is to help them train, recover, grow, and perform responsibly.
Ohana doesn’t support crash diets, prolonged fasting, severe food restriction, intentional dehydration, or extreme weight-cutting practices for youth athletes.
For young combat-sport athletes, wrestlers, and other weight-class competitors, we focus on:
The health and development of the athlete come before a number on the scale.
Every young athlete begins with an individualized assessment. We review their nutrition, hydration, training schedule, sleep, recovery, health history, goals, and current challenges.
From there, we recommend the most appropriate level of support for the athlete and family.
